Be Like June

Be Like June

By Rebecca Bennington

People think that they are smarter than animals.  June knows she is smart, and she doesn’t care if people don’t think so.  She knows things.

June likes to go outside as much as she can.  She is curious and she likes to explore, even if it’s only around her yard.

June is alert and pays attention to things around her. She can find something good in everything she looks at.

June puts things away for a rainy day.  Sometimes when she gets a bone, she buries it in case she wants it later.

She takes care of things that are important.

June loves her family, even though she was not born to them. She knows that family is who you decide they are, and love is where you find it.

June likes to lay in the sun.

June takes baths, even when she doesn’t want to.  She knows it’s important to be clean.

June sleeps –   A lot!  And sometimes she snores, and June dreams.

June enjoys a snack sometimes, but not too often.  She eats healthy meals every day.

June exercises and plays.  She takes a lot of walks.  She hardly ever watches TV.

June drinks a lot of water.

June knows the most important thing of all.  She knows that she has everything she needs, and June knows this is all she needs to be happy.

If people were smarter than animals, they would know that too.

Be like June.  Be happy.
